Ottawa-based manufacturer of firearm holster Specialty Equipment Manufacturing Inc. gave away a number of self-loading holsters to Canadian troopers heading to Afghanistan on a peace-keeping mission.

The holsters were given away as part of the award ceremony during the Canadian Forces and Law Enforcement Expo that was held in Connaught Ranges, Ottawa, in the middle of September.

Recipients of the award will be providing SLVE with valuable information on holster performance in real-life combat settings. The data gathered during field testing will be used to further enhance and upgrade existing holster models as well as develop new concepts, according to Michael Nazarov, Director of Communications at SLVE.

“It is this kind of cooperation that allows Specialty Equipment Manufacturing Inc to stay at the forefront of the latest technology and continually improve its products”, said Nazarov.

Specialty Equipment Manufacturing Inc is an exclusive manufacturer of firearm holsters for automatic and semi- automatic pistols, specifically designed for use by law enforcement officers and military personnel.

The company has authored an internationally-patented technology for self-loading holsters that can be applied for the variety of pistol models including Glock, Beretta, Browning HiPower, Smith and Wesson, SIG Sauer, Colt, Springfield XD.
